My Ancestor’s Shadow
This sheepskin is exceptionally beautiful and practical. It could be used as a sit-mat around the fire or a bedroll-- The fibers on this are nice and soft and are a great length—long and dense enough to insulate you from the ground, but not so long that leaves and dirt and debris will get all tangled in it. It would also be a practical sheepskin to make a vest or hat out of. A tempting one to hold on to due to its versatility. This sheepskin was bark-tanned with love and devotion by me. Please note the tear that I repaired with red thread 48x27”
When measuring, I measured down the middle for both length and width. Some parts of the hide will be longer and some will be shorter. I measured the leather side. Fiber often extends beyond the leather.
I live with dogs, so please consider that if you are extremely allergic. These hides will become softer with time and use. I wash and comb these sheepskins multiple times, but you will still find pieces of organic matter in them once in a while—it’s impossible to get it all out! They will also smell like lanolin to some degree or another, which not everyone is used to. You can wash them sparingly (if you’d like more info on this, check out my faq). If you ever decide you don’t want this hide, please compost it or leave it to decay into the woods—don’t throw it in a landfill!
If you would like to arrange a payment plan, I’d be happy to do so with you—please email me at azizathemouse@proton.me! I am not accepting returns at this time, so please ask any and all questions before you buy.
